About Our Workshop

Members of the Member Financial Health Score Advisory Team met in Minneapolis on October 4 and 5, to workshop and shape the scope of the Member Financial Health Score Project. All events were held on-site at the Westin Edina Galleria Hotel.

Glenn Grossman

SPEAKER'S BIO

As director of research at Cornerstone Advisors, Glenn Grossman produces analytical studies aimed at delivering insights for innovation, growth and sustainable competitive advantage for financial institutions and fintech firms. Backed by more than 30 years of leadership experience in data analytics, product management, and product development in the banking and technology industries, Glenn has published numerous retail banking articles on topics including deposit growth strategies and bank regulation.

Before joining Cornerstone, Glenn was a principal consultant and senior thought leader with FICO, a leading analytics software company. Before that, he was the product leader for a start-up fintech payments firm. He started his career in the financial services industry managing product innovation and payment strategy at Bank of America, where he invented several patented banking and customer loyalty processes. He also served as an economist with the U.S. Department of Labor–Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Glenn holds a Master of Business Administration Degree in Technology, Science & Engineering from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, Tempe, Ariz.; a Master of Education Degree in Special Education from the College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, Va.; and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the College of William & Mary. He is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the North Carolina School of Banking. He is working toward a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration, Finance from Anderson University in Anderson, Ind.

Backed by more than a decade of leadership experience as a marketer and digital strategist, Abbie Jones is uniquely qualified to help Cornerstone Advisors clients develop and implement data-based revenue strategies aimed at increasing profits and enhancing customer experience. As a director in Cornerstone’s Strategy and Execution practice, Abbie calls on her strong skills in strategic planning, project and change management, and organizational restructuring to identify opportunities and partner with clients on a variety of growth initiatives.

Before joining Cornerstone, Abbie developed, negotiated, and implemented data strategies for CRM programs with a Texas credit union, initiatives that doubled the organization’s asset size as well as its consumer loan portfolio.

Abbie holds a Master of Business Administration Degree in Big Data Strategy from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Psychology from the University of Texas Permian Basin, Odessa, Texas.

Jeff Kline has been the President/CEO of MDC since 2007 and has been in the credit union industry for more than 30 years.

Jeff started his career as a CPA at KPMG Peat Marwick and then went to work for a client, US Central Credit Union. He has worked at several other credit unions as an EVP of Finance and Technology, an EVP of Retail and Strategy, and as a CEO.

Meagan O’Brien began her career as a mechanical engineer working in the aerospace industry designing flight deck controls for military and commercial airplanes. In the evenings she studied and performed improvisation at The Second City and iO. Following her passion, she quit her job in 2006 and toured with The Second City National Touring Company. Once she had her fill of long van rides, she discovered a new passion: blending the philosophies and skills of improvisation with challenges in the business world. She spends her time facilitating corporate workshops, giving keynote presentations, hosting events and panel discussions, and generally loving what she gets to do every day! She was recently named one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business.
